The Holy Grail of Beatles Fine Art Photography
For sale is a set of four (4) original signed and numbered portraits - one of each Beatle - taken by world renowned Iranian photojournalist Shahrokh Hatami. These are the holy grails of Beatles fine art photography and make it to market so rarely that eBay has no recorded sales of Hatami's Beatles images over the last year. The only place where these can be found is from the San Francisco Art Exchange, who sells the set for ,000.
This lot was purchased at a 1997 charity auction for Cancervive in Los Angeles and comes with the original auction catalogue and receipt for the prints.
Each print is
hand signed "Shahrokh Hatami '95"
and is
numbered 12/100
. These are stunning
11" x 14"
museum quality pigment prints. See the pictures for details. The George Harrison print has a small dog ear on the top right. The Paul McCartney print has two slight creases in the top right border which do not affect the image itself. The John Lennon and Ringo Starr portraits are perfect.
Born in Tehran and based in Paris, Shahrokh Hatami was a world renowned Iranian photojournalist who covered front-page events from the revolution in Iran to the Beatles backstage as Beatlemania took off. A 1963 Paris Match assignment took him to Liverpool to meet the band, where he captured these iconic images as well as the first color images of the band together, backstage at the Cavern Club.
These prints will be packed with care in mylar sleeves, in between thick foam for protection, and will be shipped USPS Priority.
