    Description

    Please note -
    film holders are NOT included
with the Cascade film holder cases.
Before I retired and closed Photobackpacker, the Cascade film holder cases were among my best selling products.  The original product was manufactured in Asia and I sold 1500 of these unique cases.  I have had so many requests I have decided to produce a limited supply of these on my own.  I will be making them only during the winter months and/or on rainy days.  (Yes, I am soooo retired......)
Disorder is the enemy in large format photography.
The Cascade film holder case is designed to bring
    order, efficiency and speed
to the handling of film holders while protecting them at the same time.  The Cascade film holder cases simply
    fit into the natural flow
of setting up the camera, composing, focusing, locating and handling the film holder before, during and after exposure.  It allows a
    predictable and repeatable flow
that is key for success in large format field photography.

In the pictures showing the different cases hanging fully open on the tripod can you spot which film holder is unexposed?
Hint: Look for the white dot.
Here's a list of the features and benefits:

    accidentally pulling a dark slid
    e.

Zipper pulls double as exposure indicators.
You can tell at a glance

This holder is my own design that improves upon this style of adapted plate holder. It holds the plates more firmly without causing any bends in thin trophy aluminum like the 4-corner style holders with inserts, and it produces a nice clean border on the image. I’ve gone through iterations over the past two years tweaking it to arrive at this ultimate design that is sturdy.
This takes full 4x5” plates, unlike Chamomix, so you can get cheaper plates from Main Trophy or Bostick and Sullivan without cutting them custom. If you cut your own glass plates, there’s some extra room to account for any imperfections in your cuts. If you need a custom opening size that’s smaller, I can modify my design to meet your need.
I use these for wet plate collodion as well as J Lane Dry Plates. I keep a few J Lane plates in for weeks at a time with no light leaks.
There’s a finger groove to help you guide the plates gently in and out with a gloved finger. I can use this holder entirely one-handed.
Two will fit in a small USPS box for .45. Grab all 4 and I’ll cover the extra shipping.
Also, I’m always happy to chat about process challenges with you once you get the holder, half of the fun of these processes is the community.
If you already have parts, I can supply adapter components too. Contact me via this listing.
