The ends of the threads are rolled to keep the heavy duty wing nuts from accidentally coming off, 2 extra roll pins are included with each clamp to convert it from a Swivel to a 90 degree to a Straight locked clamp, no need to keep 3 different units in stock. These heavy duty clamps are designed from the ground up for safety and the rigors of day to day use in the entertainment industry. Weighing in at 2.2lbs these are not some lightweight throw away clamp.
All our clamps are manufactured using extruded aluminum and NOT cast aluminum like some of the low cost ones seen on ebay.
